Big(ish) News
Two things have happened in 2008 that have rocked the Family Jax.
These may not be a big deal to you, but to us, MAJOR.
First, Jack has decided to wear shoes. Yes, shoes. As in not Crocs. On a whim, I picked up a pair of slip-on Vans for him that were
1.) a size to big,
2.) half off and
3.) had flames and dragons on them for Pete's sake.

The hope was that, maybe, if I'm lucky, one day he would wear shoes (a mom can dream, right?). People, the kid loves these things. Is it the lack of laces? Is it because they're roomy on his fat little feet? Is it the dragon on the front? Who the hell knows, but really, who the hell cares. We are in shoes, amen and good night.
Second, Jack has now pooped on the potty twice. I repeat, he has pooped on the potty twice.
Here's the scenario: Currently, the poop schedule is after dinner during play time. Jack announces to the room that he's pooping. JaxDad and I give approval, then move on to better things. Lately, his tubby time has approached, 7:30 on the dot, and he has yet to poop. Since we run such a tight ship around here (G'Mom is now rolling on the floor, laughing hysterically), I stick him in the tubby whether he's pooped or not. Got to stay on schedule, right. You know where this is going, don't you? Poop inevitably happened in the tub. Since poop in the tub is a bit, well, disgusting, tubby time is over when this happens. So,twice, I've convinced him to exit the tub and poop on the potty, then he gets to go back in the tubby. I think the concept may be catching on. Stay tuned...
And by the way, be glad I didn't post a picture of the poop. I was close, but as G'Mom always says, we need boundaries around here.
